Aaron and Lynn have both been apart of FMLC (First Morning Light Chinese Church) and leading the youth group there for the past 13 years since 2012. In February of 2024, they felt called to start a young adult ministry due to the number of college students and adults who were regularly attending our youth group. They have a deep love for their Savior Jesus, they owe Him everything and have devoted their lives to helping others meet Jesus and follow Jesus.
Aaron works bi-vocationally as both a shepherd to Antioch Fellowship and a financial advisor at Edward Jones. He is currently completing his Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS). Here’s his brief auto-biography:
My favorite Bible verse is 1 Timothy 1:15, “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” Paul tells Timothy that he is the foremost sinner, the greatest sinner, the chief of sinners and that Jesus came precisely to save people like him. I resonate with this verse more than any other verse in all of the Bible. I had grown up in church my entire life, but never understood the reality of my own sin and my desperate need for Jesus until I became a freshmen in high school and heard the gospel with fresh ears and God caused me to be born again.
In my freshmen year, I discovered sermons by Paul Washer online and finally understood the Gospel for the first time. More than that, I was exposed to reformed theology/doctrine and I have been held captive and enthralled with the gospel ever since then. Coinciding very quickly with my conversion, God put a great passion in my heart to tell others about the exceedingly good news of the Gospel and I’ve been doing that ever since.
I love Jesus because of what He’s done for me in the Gospel and I’ve dedicated my life to loving Him with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength till death brings me home to Him.
I got married at 18 years old, less than a month after graduating high school, to my wonderful wife Lynn and we have been married now for over 12 years. We have been serving alongside each other at Antioch Fellowship (English ministry of First Morning Light Chinese Christian church) these past 12 years and have shepherded and pastored generations of middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students by the grace of God.
A few years ago God took me on an adventure for 6 years (retiring in 2023) and I became a professional esports player and coach in the game Rainbow Six Siege which has allowed me to travel the world and compete in gaming competitions in places like Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, and Italy. In 2022, we won the world championship for Rainbow Six Siege by the grace of God.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my best friend and wife Lynn, watching movies, attempting to learn golf, and reading good books that nourish the soul and teach me more about Jesus.
Additionally, I recently started seminary studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for an M.Div (Masters in divinity).
My living spiritual heroes are John Piper, Paul Washer, and Mark Driscoll - all who have played a crucial role in my life and spiritual formation.
I deeply appreciate faithful saints who are now with the Lord including: Charles Spurgeon, George Whitefield, David Brainerd, Martin Luther, Thomas Watson, John Bunyan, and Tim Keller.
Lynn is the youth pastor at Antioch Fellowship. Aaron (my husband) and I serve the youth group together through preaching, teaching, discipleship, prayer and everything else that youth ministry entails. :D We first met this awesome group of youth folks at their 2011 Winter Retreat where Aaron got to guest preach.
I finished my Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Educational Leadership at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013.
